Starting your Cusco city tour you will start by visiting Santo Domingo Church; also known as Koricancha and “Temple of the Sun”. The Cathedral of Cusco; located on the northeast side of the Plaza de Armas hold thousands of XII century paintings including the breathtaking Lord of the Earthquakes altar that weighs over 52 pounds. Sacsayhuaman complex; that was also the battleground between the Inca & Spanish and took approximately 50 years to complete. After visiting Sacsayhuaman you will be taken to visit three more ruins, Puca Pucara fortress; that guards the entrance of Cusco to the east and Q’enko; that was considered to be a ceremonial center inside a large rock with carved figures, seats and passages and of course Tambo Machay; a water fountain surrounded by high-quality stone walls with that has had continuously running water since the time of the Incas. Your adventure doesn’t stop here. Over the next days, you will also make your way by private van through the Sacred Valley including visits to Chinchero, Maras, Moray Pisac Market & ruins, Ollantaytambo ruins all before making your way to the edge of Lake Titicaca in Puno where you will conclude your adventure by visiting Uros, and the wonderful Taquile and Amantani islands before return to Cusco or Lima.*Please note that you can also add Arequipa to your package.
