Arequipa & Colca Canyon
Journey to the glorious Arequipa, also known as the “White City” where you can bask in captivating views in and around the city. On the first day you will enjoy a 3-hour city tour that includes visits to historic buildings that have been made from volcanic stone, the central plaza, the colorful Santa Catalina Monastery that was founded in 1580, the village of Carmen Alto, and the Yanahuara lookout where you will be able to see the city from above and the glorious Misti volcano. Your tour will also include visits to some of the most important cathedrals in Arequipa. The second day of your journey in Arequipa will be one of the best as you head for the astonishing Colca Canyon. Along the way, you will have stunning views of the Andes while continuing your adventure you will pass through local villages and stop at the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas located just behind Arequipa’s famous Misti volcano where you will be able to view vicuñas in their natural habitat and the Cordillera Blanca. In the afternoon you will be taken to thermal and medicinal baths where you will have the time to relax and enjoy the scenery around you. During your last day in the Colca Canyon, you will have time to explore either by hiking or biking, if this isn’t something that interests you then you can take the day and relax.
